Eemynor 08:27 video
Part I I wait for a day On a bed of clay In a din of shouts Terrified by bombs Bells and chimes will ring Singing the start of spring Ice winters are far away And crystal swords thrown away Clearer times will come An exorcised wisdom Gongs of freedom will ring Through the arches from nothingness Part II Darker times will come Hypnotic freedom Discolored rainbows Paralyzed shadows A brighter day will come A luminous wisdom Changing the shade of bones Into rays of satin tones Peaceful times will come Leaving so far behind Paralyzed shadows Discolored rainbows
2.
Part I Touching the wall At the end of the lane Where light is a vault That softens my pain Rough are the stones A shawl on his bones Holes in my hands Like wells in these lands Beauty of a song At the end of a day Walls made of clay Fading horizon Part II No need for war No need to cry Let’s water the land Where peace has run dry A sign in the rhyme Of a strange poetry A sign in the sand Of a bitter symphony Witnessing time Ashes and flames Glittering tiles Blurring the strife
3.
Is my love cynical ? Is my love chemical ? Does it play in rhythm ? Mystery is beyond all Is our love digital ? Is our love physical ? It’s so hard to realize What a flame can symbolize Aimless words may tell the truth Mystery is beyond all Is this hell digital ? Are my cells animal ? And the walls so rough ? These burning hopes are mystical

Spending hours In conversation With the moon Spending nights Close to the ocean Before the monsoon Spending hours Close to the ocean Before the monsoon Spending nights In conversation With the moon I can guess a smile Upon your face Won’t you stay a while This night is grace We fill the space So near so far When love passes by Lonely is my mind I follow each star My faith is blind When night passes by So near so far
5.
Spandam 04:42
Follow the rhythm Of my beating heart Of a stream in my veins That flows to the ocean Pearls are dripping Upon my face Silence is a mist Softening my breath My gaze goes above And beyond the horizon My gaze dives inside To make love arise Make love abide The wind goes beyond The edge of the horizon My gaze dives inside To keep love alive To make love abide
6.
Morning Rain 05:12
Pictures from my diary Flashes from my memory A silent film plays in my head Strolling down a dusty lane All my thoughts left behind Morning rain wets my arms Isolated, I ask questions About nothing Isolated, I come across What’s happening All my doubts fade away When the fog has disappeared A silent song plays in my head Pebbles I collected Set a pace to my melodies Morning rain drowning my fears Isolated, I ask questions About nothing Isolated, I come across What’s happening
7.
Song For Syd 06:34
Where have you been ? With white ashes in your hands Are you in a no-man’s land Where have you been ? Where have you been ? Where have you gone ? You left by the back door The same one you entered before When you were young When you were young. Fallen from grace Into the shade of your golden hair Two black holes in the sky Where have you been ? Just tell me why. From where you’re standing Can you see Emily playing ? Pockets full of stones Half way from home Where has she gone ?

about

After « Way to Lhassa » released in 2013 and « Endless Mystery in 2017, SIIILK, the band from Lyon is back with their third opus entitled « EEMYNOR »

The nice introduction track that gave its name to the album, immerses the listener into the fantasy world of an ancient people exhausted by endless wars. The track is built into two parts like the two movements of an out of time symphony,

With the second track « Signs in the sand » the listener slides into a more contemporary world where beauty is seeking to win over violence, doing so within three monotheist creeds, on its maybe utopian search for a lasting peace. Siiilk embarks onto this quest boldly.

The album then unfolds quite naturally with a rainbow of soft and meaningful sounding compositions depicting, as is customary with SIIILK , varied lanscapes filled with the emotiuons provided by the sounds of Gilbert Gandil's guitar, Jacques Roman's keyboards andand a new rhythm section composed of Guillaume Antonicelli on bass and Clément Vullion on drums ( who joined the band in 2017.This blending of electric and acoustic instruments is enhanced by Richard and Catherine's voices,

The album ends with some ambient underwater sonorities generously given by Jacques Roman on his keyboards in « Number 9 », the track just before « Song for Syd » a moving and powerful tribute to Syd Barret, founding member of « Pink Floyd », a band which , once again and quite deliberatly , provided Siiilk with one of its main source of inspiration.
